End of the Year Wind Up
2024 was a great year for HWFA in spite of the visit from Helene. Johnson Farm survived and classes were resumed as soon as it was possible. This blog is a recap of the last couple of months and mostly likely may be the last blog of 2024.
I will be stepping down as your web designer as it has been decided that HWFA will be paying a company to create a more professional website.
I became a member of HWFA 8 years ago because I was interested in fiber and fiber classes. I have a long commute so I don't make the weekly luncheons. When I joined, I was looking a way I could contribute volunteer hours remotely if possible. Carolyn was the new president and Roberta was the new Educational Coordinator. I asked them how could I help. As a recently retired graphic designer and website designer, I offered to find an affordable way for us to have a website that would not only keep our name out there but also be a place to promote our classes which generate a lot of the income for HWFA.
We are required to contribute 25 volunteer hours a year as part of our membership. All I can say is that maintaining our website and blog has more than exceeded my volunteer requirement, and I've loved every minute of it. All of the educational coordinators and presidents I have worked with have been great.
I still plan to maintain my membership and join you when I can. Many thanks for allowing me to keep my hand in the graphic design world and letting me be a part of this great group of artists.
Enjoy the photos. If I've made a mistake in the name or the class or the instructor, please send me a kind email, and I will be happy to correct it. bgcyclist@icloud.com. Also Sara Beth did a lot of work compiling all of these photographs.
