Prerequisites: students must have completed Weaving Boot Camp I prior to taking this class
Class Description: This class is for the fledgling weaver who has completed Boot Camp and is ready to take on another project, but would still like some assistance in planning and executing. Weavers may choose to weave any project with a maximum width of 18”. This could include a table runner, placemats, napkins, or a scarf. Students will select one of three bird’s eye patterns, wind their warp, dress their loom from back to front, and weave their project. Finishing that involves sewing will have to be done at home. The goal of this class is to increase weavers’ confidence and ability to carry out their projects independently.
Materials
Each student will meet independently with the teacher prior to the class to plan their project and select their yarn. Students should bring everything needed to complete their project. This includes their yarn of choice (preapproved by the teacher) and their weaving toolkit. The 3-day class will include 5 hours per day of instruction/weaving assistance. Total instruction time will be 16 hours.
