Instructor: Allison Teeples
Date: May 3&4, 2025
Time: 9:00 – 3:00
Maximum number of students: 5
Prerequisites: this is an INTERMEDIATE class. Students must be able to direct warp a rigid heddle loom with little to no assistance.*
Class Description: Jane Patrick, author of The Weaver's Idea Book: Creative Cloth on a Rigid Heddle Loom, said, "There's nothing plain about plain weave." By changing color and patterns of color in the warp and weft of your hand wovens, beautiful designs will emerge in plain weave. Color and weave is the process of doing just that. It's also a great opportunity to play with different colors and see how they interact. In this 12-hour class, students will learn about color theory and learn more about project planning. We will work together on creating a color and weave sampler, then designing a color and weave project. You will see why plain weave isn't plain at all!
Fee: $120 for HWFA members (must have completed orientation at the time of registration) or $130 for non-members, payable by check,
cash or credit card to HWFA.
Materials fee: $5 payable in cash to instructor first day of class
Supplies brought by student: *Participants may bring their own loom, however, the loom must be fully assembled and in working order prior to class.
