For Inkle Handle - Inkle weaving class-if you are interested in weaving your own handle for your picnic basket there is a class for you. On May 14th I will be teaching a basic Inkle class - learn to make a handle for the Spindle Basket (May 21st & 22nd taught by Zsa) or for the Picnic Basket (May 29th & 30th taught by Ruth) or just learn to weave on an Inkle Loom. Option #2 - 1” Shaker Tape for your handle. Comes in several colors (I will need to order the Shaker Tape) let me know if you are planning an Inkle or Shaker tape handle.
Class Description: This sturdy basket can be used for many things — including as a picnic basket. It has a wood base and wood feet to protect the handle. Personalize your basket by your choice of colors for handle and basket trim.
Materials/Tools Instructor will provide: All basket supplies including slotted wood base, ¾” reed, feet etc.
Students bring: basket tools if you have them - awl, or ice pick, small pruning shears or something to cut reed, and tape measure.
Fee: $60 for HWFA members (must have completed orientation at the time of registration) or $70 for non-members, payable by check, cash or credit card to HWFA.
Materials fee: $45 payable in cash to instructor first day of class
