Prerequisites: Intermediate weaving skill
Class Description: Working with linen, learn to weave lace. Lace can add texture to
everyday textiles and make delicate shawls and scarves special. This 3-day class will begin on Thursday, Nov. 2. You will weave 3 to 5 samples, consisting of 8"x8" finished table mats to use
under your holiday decorations or plants. You will have a week to complete these samples. On Nov. 9 and 10 you will plan and weave an heirloom table runner using what you
learned from weaving the samples.
Fee:
$180.00 for HWFA members (must have completed orientation at the time of registration) or $190.00 for non-members
Materials fee:
$35 includes linen (Lofty Fiber’s Euro Flax, color chart available) and handouts
Supplies brought by student: small scissors, tape measure, tapestry needle #13 or #16.
